Social Ministry Team

Dedicating ourselves to the vision, we ask our congregation to participate in the following outreach programs:

A Big Step: Collects donations for Head Start programs at Prince and Laguna Schools to purchase new shoes and socks in the Fall.

Anna B. Lawrence School Pantry Food Program and the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona: Help provide nutritious food to children and their families in a convenient, familiar and safe location. 


Diaper Collection for Children and Adults: Collect diapers forlocal agencies through our Craft Fair, Fall Festival, and drives throughout the year.

ELCA World Hunger Appeal: Members collect funds to be contributed to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) World Hunger Appeal during the 40 days of Lent that precede the celebration of Easter.

Feed My Starving Children: Once a year members hand-pack meals specially formulated for malnourished children, which are sent to partners around the world where they're used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty.

Food Drives: We collect food monthly with an "Item of the Month" and have two major food drives each year (spring and fall) to support  the food banks at Interfaith Community Services, Impact (Catalina Community Services), and Grace/St. Paul Episcopal. 

Fund for Leaders in Mission (F.L.I.M.): We support and assist seminary students with tuition

God Anwers Prayers (GAP): We raise funds for Resurrection's GAP Scholarship program which helps support our Child Development Center Scholarship Program for children coming to us through the GAP Ministies

Grand Canyon Synod of the ELCA: 10% of undesignated gifts through the general offerings go to support the ministries of our synod throughout Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.


Interfaith Community Services (ICS): We support both financially and through volunteer efforts, including their food bank.

Impact of Southern Arizona: Support through food and clothing drives.

Just Coffee: A fair trade coffee sold to improve lives of Mexican farmers so they get fair wages, as well as medical care and retirement.

Lutheran Campus Ministry We support LCM through contributions and by providing a home-cooked meal to students twice per year.


Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest: Assist seniors, disabled, refugees and children by collecting needed items for all.

Manna Ministry:  A congregation service to our members and friends who need a home-cooked meal delivered to their home.

Military Group: Resurrection Quilters give Southern Arizona Veteran's Hospitals quilts throughout the year.

Primavera Men's Shelter: Members prepare and serve dinners and lunches for the Primavera shelter for homeless men.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: Resurrection knitters create shawls that are given to others who are experiencing loss and/or a stressful event.

Total Wellness Health Program provides information during the year on a variety of wellness and wholeness topics through a multitude of resources – seminars, demonstrations, workshops, brochures, speakers, screenings, videos, classes, etc.


Women of the ELCA: Promotes awareness and supports women's and family issues locally, nationally, and globally. 

World Vision

Wycliffe Bible Translators: Collect donations to help two Resurrection translators in Mexico. They translate the Bible into the Mixtec language.

Youth on Their Own (YOTO): We support YOYO through financial gifts, donations, and through volunteering.
