 artbyheartsuemakiSue Maki, who taught elementary school for 31 years, began her love for art and painting in Atlanta, Georgia. She took her first painting class when she decided she wanted to decorate with painted furniture. From there she moved onto decorative painting acrylics and painted on furniture, walls and any paintable surface. Everyone who saw Sue’s work loved it and when she moved to Tucson she sold many items to the gift shop at Tohona Chul. She has participated in many art shows and done some private commissions. Sue has been painting for over 20 years and now paints mostly watercolors.

artbyheartannblizzardAnne Blizzard joined Resurrection in 1996 and served as the first Parish Administrator during construction and completion of the Outreach Center. She is a member of Las Campañas Gloria bell choir. Anne learned how to knit over 50 years ago. She has been knitting daily for the last 10 years. Anne teaches knitting for free on Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 3:00pm in the Administration Building Conference Room. All are welcome!


artbyheartcarolseavittCarol Seavitt was a member of Resurrection for 7 years. Sadly, she lost her battle with cancer in February. She was an active member of Art by Heart who helped build and create the second and subsequent murals on our Oro Valley campus. She also helped make crosses, bud vases, memorials and so much more. Carol loved Oro Valley, all things clay, and especially loved machine embroidery and sewing. She will be greatly missed.


artbyheartalexkAlex Krabbendam is a Senior at Ironwood Ridge High School. Last year he won a Southern Arizona Clay Artists scholarship for one of his clay sculptures. He also received the Orton Award at the 17th Annual National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition and wants to purse a degree in Art. He is currently the Intern Supervisor on Art by Heart’s Steering Committee and helps lead the Children’s Art on Wednesdays from 3:00pm-5:00pm.


artbyheartdebbieohlrichDebbie Ohlrich and her husband Kurt are charter members. She has been an active part of Art by Heart from the beginning and loves saying: “God’s Work, Our Hands.” Debbie is part of the ABH Steering Committee and will be leading a workshop with Carol Seavitt every Tuesday from 10:00am - 12:00pm making new member crosses, bud vases and memorials. Everyone is welcome to join Debbie and Carol and they will teach and guide you in making these items. Come join the fun and fellowship.


aprilrabyApril Raby and her family have been members of Resurrection for 21 years and she has been a part of Art by Heart for 2 years, learning to work with clay and loving the experience. She took a painting class offered by Art by Heart and discovered a new hobby! April looks forward to more fellowship and artistic sharing with Art by Heart!



onnaespositoDonna Esposito, and her husband Ron, have been members of Resurrection for eight years after moving here from the Chicago area. Donna has been involved with Art by Heart since early in its formation and participated in the construction of the murals along the meditation path. She has a degree in art and education, is a member of the ABH-Visual Arts Steering Committee, Southern Arizona Clay Artists, and continues with classes at the Pima Arts Center. Hand building clay art is her favorite but also she enjoys watercolor, stained glass and other art medium. She is happy to be part of the fellowship and the great things that are happening in the Visual Arts Room and Boutique in the Outreach Center.


Nancyrichter and PamBrunelleNancy Richter has been a member of Resurrection Lutheran church since 2003. She has been a co-chair for the  Church Craft Fair the past two years. She her good friend Pam Brunelle make jewelry. Pam has been making jewelry for 5 years and Nancy almost 3 years. Their work includes silversmithing, working with copper, lost wax casting and enameling.


kathydunnKathy Dunn and her husband, Glenn, joined Resurrection Lutheran in 2010 when they moved to Oro Valley. Kathy had done painting, batik, wood carving, and leather picture tool-ing, but found that she enjoyed clay sculpture when she moved to her current home. In addition to Art by Heart at RLC, she is a member of the Sun City Oro Val-ley clay and sculpture clubs. Her favorite subjects are animals and nativity sets.


 

pollyrPolly Reinacker attends the 7:45 service and has been a member of Resurrection for eight of the 10 years she's been in southern Arizona.   She was born in Newton, Massachusetts but lived in Denver, CO for 40 years. After retiring as a United Airline stewardess, Polly became involved in many artistic expressions...  An excellent seamstress, oil painter, and jewelry maker. Watch for her beautiful paintings, note cards, glass creations, and dichroic, wire wrapped jewelry in our Boutique.



artbyheartaliciaAlicia participates in Brownies and takes ballet lessons. She enjoys singing in the RLC Children’s Choir and loves going to the Children’s Art by Heart time every Wednesday.
