Hike to the Historic Sutherland Wash Petroglyphs

January 11 @ 8:00 am 12:00 pm

Departing from RLC on Saturday, January 11th, at 8:00 AM. The Sutherland Wash Rock Art District is a national historic site on the western slope of the Catalina Mountains. Hundreds of Hohokam petroglyphs, dating from 900 AD to 1300 AD, are clustered in two sites on a four-mile hike. The hike involves a few short, steep, rocky sections of trail. Hiking poles are recommended. Snack time with devotions will be held near one of the sites. High clearance vehicles are needed to drive the last half mile to the parking area at the north end of Catalina State Park. Driver donation $3. Sign up with Elisabeth Wheeler, [email protected], indicating if you have a high clearance vehicle.
